"Where the shots count - The one and only ultimate E-Sport championship in UOP"
CSUP Game Night - Reignite 25', organized by the Computer Society of the University of Peradeniya (CSUP), successfully concluded on July 18th, starting from 4.00 PM onwards at the Department of Statistics & Computer Science. Serving as a grand revival of the popular gaming event last held in 2017, the primary aim was to bring together enthusiastic gamers for a memorable evening of competitive and recreational gaming. The event saw a massive turnout, drawing the participation of over 300 university students from all faculties.
Competitive Tournaments: The night featured intense, competitive E-sport tournaments specifically for Valorant and Call of Duty.
Player Participation: A total of 16 teams battled it out in the main tournaments, with up to 80 registered players showcasing their skills.
Fun Game Zone: A dedicated recreational area was available for all attendees, featuring console games such as Mortal Kombat and NFS, alongside various mini-games and entertainment music to elevate the atmosphere.
Event Leadership: The initiative was successfully spearheaded by the CSUP committee, with contact points including President Lakshitha Eranga and Vice President Vidusha Sanidu.
The competitive spirit was at an all-time high throughout the night. The team, Mythics, emerged as the champions of the Valorant tournament, while Mind Processing claimed the victory for Call of Duty. Furthermore, the teams Tactical Naps and Reapers showcased exceptional skills to secure their respective positions.
The event concluded with a grand prize distribution ceremony and extremely positive feedback from the participants, successfully achieving its goals of increasing student engagement and fostering a vibrant tech community within the university.
